How to migrate Tally 7.2 to ERP9

You want to Migrate  tally 7.2  data in to tally latest version ERP9, To do this you need to run an executable file named Tally7.2migraton.exe, Before go for migration it is recommended to keep a back-up of the data file of the migrating company

To run Tally7.2 migration.exe,  you have to go to tallyerp9  program folder. If you don’t know where it is located.Just right click on Tallyerp9  icon from your desktop. Click properties option, Then click find target. Tally programe folder will open automatically. In tally folder you will find “tally72migration.exe”.  if it is not found there you can download Tally migration.exe  here.Double click on it, Make sure that you have closed all other programs opened.Tally migration windows open on the left side of your screen like below click on image to see big picture & press back button on your browser to come back.

Just have a look at footer section of the window ” Migration Message” you will find message Loading tally ERP9…. after a few second Tally ERP window will open on your right side. To veiw migration window click on below image .

In your right hand side window you will see the message No Migration in Progress… and in the footer section of left side window will see Ready For Migration…

Go for “Migrate Data” menu on the left side window and press enter, Under Select Company For Migration Option Type data directory location where tally 7.2 data is located , Like D:/Tally7.2/Data. Then select company name you want to Migrate and press enter Programe will ask you Migrate ? Press Enter.Migration will start and you will get an information message “Migration Completed Check Statistics check the  image below .

You can cross check with tally 7.2 with new erp9 migrated company. The number of vouchers entered & masters details will be displayed.check balance sheet & Trail balance for a confirmation.

After migrating data you will get a confirmation message like below.

Now check Tally 7.2 data folder, you can find a  folder with five digit number  in addition to tally 7.2 data, it will be like “00001″ copy that folder, right click on tally erp icon from your desktop click on properties , click find target. now open data folder paste it there.Before pasting please check whether the folder in the same name already exists. if it exists rename it something like “00005″ or 00006″  etc that does not already  exists in erp9 data folder. You are done. Now open tally erp9. and select the migrated company from the list ,start working as usual.
