Demand draft is valid for six months from the date of issue where as Pay order has a validity of three months. Demand drafts are printed with “Valid for Six months only” and pay orders “valid for three months only” on its face. We cannot loose the money because of the reason validity expired, so banker allow you to revalidating Demand draft and Pay orders.
To do so the customer should give a request letter for revalidating the instrument. Banker will revalidate the instrument for another six months in case of DD and three months in case of a pay order or banker’s cheque.

If some one has issued pay order in favour of my company, and our company do not want to sell parts to that party, and for that purpose how the pay order should be returned.? Is it enough to only inform the customer?

I have taken Pay Order from Co.Op. Bank and it is valid for six months. It has been expired three months back and I have revalidate the same for another six months. Now my question is -Can I revalidate the same(second time )for another six months? If not, how can I get my money if my P.O. validity expired?
